LACAN Winter Convening
Last year, the Louisiana Board of Regents officially launched the Louisiana College Access Network (LACAN). Louisiana is home to a uniquely rich ecosystem of college access professionals, and they’re excited to continue connecting dots through a refreshed set of statewide activities in 2026.
A number of priority activities were identified for LACAN to dedicate resources towards: Convening Partners, Exchanging Resources & Training, and Advocating on Behalf of Students & Practitioners. Convening – the core of network-building – is where the work begins. Next month, they will initiate a series of convenings with an in-person event in Baton Rouge.
This event will serve as an opportunity to gather as a statewide community for the first time in 2026, the objectives for next month’s convening include:
Strengthening connections with new and familiar colleagues
Articulating an LACAN vision and manifesto
Assigning network priorities to an inaugural subset of LACAN working groups
Receiving programming updates from Regents
