Workshop 1 Topic: Understanding Federal and State Options for Funding Education after High School (1/24/26)

Attendees will learn about the various need-based funding sources available from Louisiana and the U.S. government, such as the Pell Grant, M.J. Foster Promise Program, and the GO Grant, to name a few. Additionally, we will cover the basics for how to apply using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Those who wish to start or work on the FAFSA with a trained counselor are encouraged to bring a laptop, tablet, or mobile device. We will have a limited number of computers available (first come, first serve). Anyone who completes the FAFSA between Jan 24 - April 24 will enter a drawing for the grand prize (TBD).

Food will be served.

One gift card per family will be distributed at the end while supplies last, with priority going to those who complete the RSVP below to register.

WiFi will be available. An intimate parking lot in onsite. Those arriving by car are asked to park legally on the street at their expense, if applicable.

This and all SBC College Access Initiative workshops are open to the public.
